Sustainable Living and Reconnecting with Nature
Sustainable living is an important part of our addiction programme. We are committed to serving the environment and believe our clients have a greater sense of wellbeing when they connect with nature.
Our facility is powered by 192 solar panels that sit proudly over the offices and dining area. We are also lucky enough to have our own natural water supply which is drawn up from an underground spring. This is used not only for drinking and bathing but also to irrigate the vegetable garden.
You will find fresh fruit dotted around the 14 acre facility. Mangos, papayas and bananas all growing in their natural habitat. Down at the vegetable garden you'll see tomatoes, green beans, aubergines, fresh salad and much more which is picked daily and cooked into healthy meals for our clients. Anything spare is given away to the local community, so nothing goes to waste. We encourage all clients to get involved as much as they like. Mindfully working in the garden helps us to feel reconnected with nature and feel purposeful.
bodhitree21 is currently expanding into sustainable / natural buildings. By using salvaged materials and fast-growing bamboo, new structures are more environmentally sound and blend in harmoniously with their surroundings. We are constantly learning and building on our sustainable projects, so we can continue to develop and deepen our knowledge on a subject that is close to our heart.
